Interview with director of “APTEKA” exhibition for PHARMACEUTICAL VESTNIK newspaper
The 20th Anniversary edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “APTEKA-2013” will take place on 9-12 December 2013 in CEC “Expocentre” within the Russian Healthcare Week. Today our guest is Ekaterina Kiselyeva, the Director of “APTEKA” exhibition, who will tell us the latest news and the details of the coming show.
- Mrs. Kiselyeva, what would you tell us about the “APTEKA-2013” exhibitors?
Over 20 years the exhibition has become an important industry-specific event, a meeting place of medical and pharmaceutical industry experts. We are proud to announce that 250 companies from 27 countries will demonstrate their products and services at “Apteka-2013”. It is hardly possible to name all the exhibitors in the brief interview. The list of exhibitors has been posted on the exhibition’s website www.aptekaexpo.ru and it is regularly updated (http://www.aptekaexpo.ru/about/uch.php).
- What products and services will be demonstrated at the show?
The 5,000 sq. m exposition will showcase the whole variety of pharmacy products: drugs, medical products, medical cosmetics, nutraceuticals, baby food and products for newborns, health food, furniture and equipment for pharmacies, pharmaceutical substances and ingredients, information technologies.
- What novelties can we expect at “APTEKA-2013” comparing with the last year?
The core of “APTEKA” exhibition comprises the group regular exhibitors including: Borisov Medical Preparations Plant, “Tatkhimfarmpreparaty”, “Nevis”, “Belfarma”, “Altai Biopharmaceutical Cluster” that consolidates medical and pharmaceutical companies of Altai, “Biokor”, “Gigrovata”, “Diamir-K”, “Design-Vector”, “Tandem-West”, “1C-Rarus”, “Zeldis”, “Infamed”, “Walmark”, “Naturvita”, “Galteyapharm” and many others. But every year the exhibition presents new companies and names. This year we are glad to welcome “Valentis”, the group of Lithuanian pharmaceutical companies that develop, manufacture and market innovative pharmaceuticals; “Profilab”, the Russian distributor of laboratory products and equipment, “Bernarda”, the Croatian manufacturer of bed systems, as well as N.F.Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, “EuroPharm” and many other companies, declaring themselves for the first time on the Russian market. Comparing with the previous exhibition, “Graminex Pharma” that represents Graminex Corporation (USA) has significantly increased its exposition.
This year there are many exhibitors representing technologies for the pharmaceutical business. 20 exhibitors represent their products in this section: furniture, equipment, software, automated drug storage and distribution systems. For the first time POLLYFARMA will demonstrate the ROBOT POLLY storage system, manufactured in Russia.
- Could you please describe the profile of a typical visitor of “APTEKA” exhibition?
A distinctive feature of “Apteka” exhibition is that Over 90% of “Apteka” visitors represent the professional audience. 33% of visitors represent pharmacies and pharmacy chains coming from different regions of Russia, the next largest share belongs to dealers, distributors, and drug manufacturers. Taking into account the previous shows statistics, we expect over 10,000 visitors at the coming “APTEKA-2013” exhibition.
- Who are the exhibition partners?
“APTEKA-2013” will be held under the support and active participation of the industry’s associations and unions: Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains, “Pharmacy Guild” Non-Commercial Partnership, “Soyuzpharma” Association, Non-Commercial Partnership of Biologically Active Additives Manufacturers.
- What business programme events will be organized within the exhibition?
The 3-day International Medical and Pharmaceutical Business Forum is an important part of “APTEKA” show. The Forum brings together leading pharmaceutical experts, professional industry accusations and state authorities representatives. The Forum’s intense programme includes 10 sections:

- Are there any new sections in Forum?
“Corporate University of a pharmacy chain: looking into the future” is a new section organized by FARMATSEVTICHESKOE OBOZRENIE magazine. The programme is intended for managers and owners of pharmacy chains who are interested in staff training & development. During the 4-hour section the delegates will listen to the reports and discuss the issues of building pharmacy staff training & development system, quality management and staff motivation. The organizers have invited leading experts, business coaches and consultants of the pharmaceutical market to be the speakers in the section. Among the section’s topics there are emergency situations in pharmacy work, specific features of various inspections and action plan for the personnel, and others.
