PRESS RELEASE of the 18th International Specialized Trade Fair APTEKA 2011

The 18th International Specialized Exhibition APTEKA 2011 has been held for several consecutive years already as part of the Russian Health Care Week in Expocentre, Central Exhibition Complex, and is justifiably considered to be an indicator of the Russian pharmaceutical industry presenting the whole range of pharmacy products annually — medicine products (drugs), over-the-counter medicines, everything necessary for the pharmacy’s work — furniture and pharmaceutical equipment. The exhibition exposition favors the cooperation possibilities revelation in the chain: manufacturer — distributor — pharmacy — end consumer; and this exactly makes it attractive for specialists in all fields of medicine and pharmacy.

260 companies from 22 countries of the world will take part in APTEKA 2011. Countries represented at APTEKA — Belgium, Belarus, Croatia, Canada, Czech Republic, China, Denmark, England, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Pakistan, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine, USA. Some of these countries are represented by national expositions — among them are Belgium, India, Kazakhstan and China.

Russia is represented by the following regions and cities — Barnaul, Biisk, Bryansk, Essentuki, Ivanovo, Kazan, Murmansk, Novosibirsk, Nizhni Novgorod, Naberezhnye Chelny, Penza, Perm, Ryazan, Rybinsk, St.-Petersburg, Stavropol, Samara Tomsk, Vladimir region, the Voronezh region.

Total exhibition area — 5500 square meters.

The exhibition section Furniture and Pharmaceutical Equipment has expanded significantly. This year, the section is presented by almost all specialized companies operating on the Russian market.

The target audience of the exhibition — pharmacies and pharmacy chains. The following companies have registered on-line already: 36.6, Rigla, Stolichnye apteki, Samson-Pharma, Stolitsa Medical, A5 pharmacy chain, Doctor Stoletov, Zdorovye Lyudi and many others. A large segment of visitors is presented by manufacturers of medicinal products: Pharmstandard, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis Pharma, Olifen Corporation, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Gedeon Richter etc. Among dealers and distributors of drugs are: Protek, Sia International, Medipal-Onko, BSS, Unipharma, EnergoPharmComplect etc. The structure of visitors registered for APTEKA 2011: Pharmacies and pharmacy chains — 53.7%, Drug manufacturers — 12.8%, Dealers/distributors — 14%, Healthcare facilities — 10.6%, Press — 3.2%, Other — 5.7%.

Along with the exhibition, the International Medical and Pharmaceutical Business Forum will be held from the 5th till 7th of December. This forum will cover the most urgent topics of the pharmaceutical industry and will join the specialists involved into different fields of industry. The Forum is organized by Euroexpo Company and KST group. Many sections of the program are arranged due to the active participation and support of such leading pharmaceutical associations as the Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing, Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, Non-commercial Partnership «Aptechnaya Gildiya», Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains, Association of Pharmacies «SojuzPharma».

About forty specialists will deliver reports in frames of the Forum program. Among them are the representatives of government institutions, heads of the branch associations and large pharmaceutical companies, lecturers of leading higher medical educational institutions, employees of specialized publications for pharmaceutical professionals. Within the framework of the Forum the participants will discuss topics urgent for the pharmaceutical market nowadays, such as legislative initiatives influencing the domestic health care system, the implementation course of the Federal targeted program on the development of pharmaceutical and medical industry till 2012, requirements to the pharmaceutical personnel training, competitive situation at present, changes expected by pharmaceutical industry in the coming years.

• Search for new directions of the pharmacy profitability formation (organized by the Russian Association of Pharmaceutical Marketing);
• Changes in the Legislation of Pharmaceutical Sphere. Reviews and Comments;
• Pharmacy worksite organization: furniture, equipment, technologies;
• «And again «pharmacy personnel is all that important». Present-day problems in the sphere of training and specialization’s mobility of pharmaceutical personnel;
• Pharmacy business: challenges of the legislation system and self-defense practice (organized by the Association of Pharmacies «SojuzPharma»).

Within the framework of Forum some of the exhibitors will make their own presentations:

The History of Exhibition:

In 1994, the exhibition was held at the Central Exhibition Hall «Manezh» (CEH «Manege»). Since 1999, the exhibition is held in the Sports Complex «Olimpiysky» (SC «Olympic»). In the period since 1994, «Apteka» was held in Moscow and other Russian cities for more than 17 times (St. Petersburg, Kiev and others).

In 2009, the exhibition company «Euroexpo» and CEC «Expocentre» join their forces for the simultaneous holding of two major exhibitions on medical and pharmaceutical topics — the International Exhibition «Apteka» and the International Exhibition «Zdravoohranenie» — as part of RUSSIAN HEALTH CARE WEEK. Starting from this point APTEKA is held annually at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

In April 2011 the exhibition is recognized by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and has received the official status «UFI Approved Event».
